Cuprian elbaite are called by the state where they were first discovered in 1989 by Heitor Dimas Barbosa in the hills of Brazil. The entire area has been dug up in the present day and resources appear to have run dry. This led to the gem's elevated status as an extremely sought-after collector’s gemstone. Mark Henry works exclusively with only the highest quality natural Paraiba tourmaline of Mozambique and Brazilian origin.

When taking care of your Paraiba, make sure you don’t expose the stone to harsh chemicals or use ultrasonic cleaners to clean the stone. Instead, use a mild soap and warmly to gently wash the paraiba and dry thoroughly with a lint-free cloth.
